Pros

In general, seems like not too stressful of a work environment. Will pay you 1.5x for overtime if you are asked to work it.

Cons

New grads are asked to start working part time while still in school as a means for the manager to evaluate them and determine whether or not they will get hired into a full time position. They claim that they will ensure that your priority is to be a student until you graduate, but then do the opposite when they force you to skip school in order to attend training sessions. There is no job security for after graduation, thus you will face the dilemma of whether you should continue job hunting, or count on being happy at Terumo and Terumo being happy to hire you full time. Terumo does not provide details about their full time compensation package until they intend to actually compensate you as a full time employee, thus not allowing you to compare with other companies' offers. After graduation, you are asked to work 40 hours a week as just an hourly employee indefinitely, until a full time position opens up. Terumo is not open to negotiation for anything, from start date (so apply only when you are ready to start working) to salary.

Pros

With a handful of exceptions, people are Terumo are friendly, willing to help & hardworking

Cons

Unfortunately supreme effort does not equal supreme results. Lack of detailed knowledge of processes results in wasted effort & negative outcomes. There are heroic efforts performed by people to only tread water. An overall lack of vision because of an overall lack of understanding of processes results in minimal improvements, leading to people burning out.

Heading downhill fast

Pros

Most coworkers (and associates) are great to work with; Consent Decree lifted thanks to those associates working really hard; Terumo tries to have a summer event and Christmas breakfast / Santa visit every year.

Cons

Everything else (including turnover, promotions opportunities, bonus, etc.) has been going downhill since 2017 (if you don't know what changed that year, you can google "Terumo 2017 Ann Arbor"). Don't treat all employees equal (e.g. favor friendship over performance). A few members of the Executive Management have a lot of influence on decisions made, negatively impact the company with those decisions and don't even realize it until it is too late. They claim Transparency as a business value but don't follow it. Difficult to do your job properly when people above you act against the business values they put in place.
