Be prepared to work insanely long hours in the summer with little to no feedback. If you don't mind having no life, this is the job for you. Starting wage for a civil tech is not bad, but room for advancing seemed very limited. Also be prepared to be sent to remote locations in the middle of winter, by yourself, even if it's terrible weather and road conditions. They don't care about your personal life, and turnover has been a huge issue over the past few years. Hardly any experienced PMs, and junior staff are typically left to figure out things on their own. It's your typical construction job, so there is also alot of standby and sitting in your vehicle waiting for the next task to do. Other times, you're on your feet for 12+hours a day. Consistency and regular are not two words you will come by at this job. No bonuses either.
