      Employee flying club, stable career prospects, no shortage of work for engineering.

      Upper management is seriously disconnected from the impacts of business decisions on product development cycles, and staffing requirements.

      Great Place to Learn & Develop Your Career

      Pros

      Mentoring atmosphere - Learned so much from great hands-on experience and being taken under the wing of more experienced colleagues. Great people - especially in their HQ in Wichita, Kansas. Meaningful work - not just pushing papers. Great benefits. Treat interns very well and give them meaningful projects.

      Cons

      For the Wichita location only: If you're not from here, it can be lonely to relocate. Also, as Textron Aviation has a bit of a monopoly on the engineering/aerospace employment in Wichita, the pay is usually ~9% less than the national average. (But that didn't stop it from being worth it for me to work 2 years here. It really is a great environment that makes up for the pay cut.)
