Thales Academy: where the rules are made up and you don't matter
Pros
-year-round calendar -few instances of violence/fighting -helpful co-workers -kind families -strict no cell phone policy for students
Cons
-lack of respect for teachers (in terms of time, ideas, professionalism, etc.) -complete lack of transparency (shady decisions that are made without the best interest of students and staff in mind) -promotion of completely incompetent people (many unqualified and inexperienced) -anti-LGBTQ+ policies -veiled Christian undertones (though it is a "secular" school) -huge class sizes (30+) -administration is very reluctant to take action in disciplinary issues -small support staff (one administrator and one administrative assistant) -lack of autonomy for teachers in terms of content, classroom decoration, etc. -no guidance counselors to help with mental wellness for students, college advising, etc. -no funding for arts programs -high turn-over for teachers/human resources/etc. -unhappy students leave frequently -huge errors in scheduling/GPA calculations, etc. -very low staff morale I could keep listing, but I think the point stands. Every teacher I know still employed here is actively looking for a new job. When I started here, it was amazing. This was 4-5 years ago. It has completely fallen apart.
