Pros

-Flexibility in work schedule/time off is a perk (depending on your manager) -Work Environment is not that stressful -Most co workers were generally nice

Cons

- Below average pay for workers that are not management -Raises are crap -The epitome of the "good ole boy system" in progress - Very minimal career advancement opportunities -Too many unqualified in management -Promotions based on blatant favortism -Many employees with higher advance degrees are managed by managers with less or no education -Dying industry, so I would not suggest anyone apply here -Layoffs occur every year, multiple times per year since 2006

Its location in heart of Atlanta offers numerous possibilities for movement into other firms in the local metro area of Atlanta.

Cons

It is hard to move up at times because performance is based on numbers and it is difficult to maintain that sometimes.

Pros

Very talented and dedicated staff. It was a fun place to work at until the demise of the big daily newspapers hit hard in the past five years..

Cons

Staff of entire newspaper is about a third the size it was three years ago. Most of the really good veterans have left the industry.
