Pros

Beach view, some nice fun vacationers, music, dancing

Cons

Sexual harassment, horrible pay, aggressive managers, want you to put work over family, emotionally abusive, wasteful, cultural appropriation, lack of concern for employees, lie about wages, won’t provide food for employees and if they do they provide scraps and very unhealthy options. Working for the hangout was a nightmare that lead me to not only emotional but physical damage of self. during my time there I dealt with multiple instances of sexual harassment that were never properly addressed by management. The men who sexually harassed me were kept in the kitchen with me and multiple other women who had the same complaints. Management completely pushed it under the rug. I was injured on the job and management literally put their hand in my face and told me to deal with it another time even though I was clearly incapable of performing my job. Since leaving I found out my neck is permanently injured from this job where they over exert their food runners and take no comments from us about how much they force us to carry at once. (I wasn’t the only employee who had an issue with this). The management was extremely aggressive and would frequently explode at their employees and scream at them. One of my coworkers was harassed by one of the owners family members and nothing was done about this. The kitchen was EXTREMELY WASTEFUL and would constantly throw away meals despite how hungry their employees were and when employees would take the “dead” food they were threatened by managers and told that they would get in trouble for “stealing” even though the company doesn’t provide meals and would just throw the full meals in the garbage anyway. The company also uses recycleable cups that don’t ever get recycled and wastes thousands of napkins a week by just shooting them into the air for guests to just step all over. They also participated in cultural appropriation having employees who aren’t Native American wearing headdresses and dancing around... this company is beyond screwed up and I can’t believe it is still in business.... so nasty greedy wasteful and uncaring. Their whole motto is be nice or to home and the management can’t even treat their hardworking employees who they expect to prioritize work over family and their health with respect.... I could go on and on. DO NOT WORK HERE YOU WILL REGRET IT SO MUCH. It’s a risk of your health and safety to work here.
