A Sinking Ship

Pros

Work from home, make your own schedule, company vehicle, health insurance, 401K retirement and stock options

Cons

If you are good at what you do, more work will be shoveled upon you from people who are not good at their job. Be prepared to do work outside of your job-title without any extra compensation. Upper-management no longer cares. All of the good managers and employees have quit, retired or were demoted due to (over-staffing) within the last year. No loyalty or common sense from upper-management.

Pros

Good health insurance plan, including medical dental vision, and prescriptions, 401(k) with 6% match vested after 2 years

Cons

Lousy pay, power hungry managers, slave labor. This company is starting to go downhill. First they cut pay, then they cut paid time off. They used to pay out really good for sales, then for 2017, they decided that the focus would be sales, and they slashed bonus, and said we would have to meet our service metrics to get it. Ever since then, every meeting has been focused on us not selling enough. Well no duh, people don't work for free. And how are we supposed to do our jobs when the sales department looks for any excuse to kill the leads we send them, yet they still have their jobs? My manager said she would sell if she was in this position. Well then, get on the phone and start selling. The managers are power hungry. They get mad when employees use the bathroom even when our schedule adherence and availability are within compliance. Management plays favorites. People who are incredibly stupid tell competent people how to do their jobs. Between sick vacation and family support, we had 35 days off, now we have 20. They try to spin this as great because now instead of getting extra time off after 10 years, we get extra time after 3 years, and the company will be observing 2 additional holidays in 2018. What a crook of BS. In the service center, we have to work Saturday's and holidays, that we never get a long weekend. Every holiday the company observes, we either work it, or the Saturday before or after.

Pros

I have worked here over three years and these are the only “pro’s” I have experienced: -Good people -Good work life balance -Good benefits

Cons

-Terrible systems -Cut backs in the technology department mean you can be on hold for hours just for simple computer problems like password issues. Or you have the option to leave a message and someone will call you back in three business days. -If you work in a field office and don’t want to go into underwriting or claims there are no opportunities for growth or advancement. -The culture of my office is weird. There’s no interpersonal interaction. The corporate office may be different though.
