Pros

- It really felt like a family, and everyone was genuinely nice and caring - Work-life balance was amazing, especially during summers when Summer Hours were in effect on Fridays - Interesting work and projects that are opportunities to grow as a professional software developer - Great compensation, even when starting out as an intern - They trust you to provide value, so no one bats an eye if you need to take break(s), and no one hovers or micromanages as long as you're doing your job and making progress - They care about quality work and best practices, and they'll send your code back if it isn't up to par (which teaches you to become better)

Cons

- There should be more vacation days available per year when first starting out at the company. Other companies involved in tech offer more than two weeks per year even for interns, and that time also counts towards paid sabbaticals every 7 years.

Pros

They trick you into thinking it is a great place to work. It is all a front.

Cons

A very unprofessional organization. People do not respond to emails or attend meetings. Projects are a joke, very disorganized and rushed with no emphasis on quality. Senior Managers do not have the right people skills.

Great people and great agency

Pros

This company is filled with extremely smart, talented people dedicated to doing the very best possible job. The mentions of the "sink of swim" mentality for new hires can be deceiving. There's an excellent training structure in place (HR does a great job of consistently refining the process) and a learning curve is expected for new hires, but they expect all employees to perform at a high level. Management is extremely transparent and wants to make the company the best possible place to work. In my time there, they always requested employee feedback and then made changes based on that feedback (notably, updating the vacation policy mentioned in a review below).

Cons

Work-life balance can be difficult to maintain. It's a culture of very hard workers which lends itself to long hours. Career advancement can be limited since it's a smaller agency and there are very few departures in the middle - upper management levels of the company.
