Learning the ropes

Pros

Overall it's been excellent. Clear to see the company is very focused on more than just a profit. The support to help achieve success is outstanding. Really the only way not to succeed is to not care. Ramp up took longer and was harder than expected but it was really more about understanding the sales process from both sides. Pros: Lots of people to turn to if you need help, you just need to reach out. Pay is good. Resident and business success stories. It's great knowing the residents really value what we do and great to see businesses reap the benefits of a partnership.

Cons

Mentally it can be challenging at times when business owners don't understand what we do or how it will help. Most have a mentality towards marketing that if they spend a dollar today they want to generate 2 tomorrow. In addition the only questions they've learned to ask are how many homes, how many people. So it's really about educating business owners.

First Year With N2

Pros

My previous employer reorganized their regional management team and I was a casualty. I spent 24 years with that company, thinking I would retire from that company. I loved what I did. That said, I am totally thankful they did reorganize. At 55 years old you kind of worry about the opportunities that are out there to provide for your family. I was quite hesitant to even look into N2. I saw the logo and and the opportunity on LinkedIn for a couple of months, before I decided to look into it. When I did and I learned more about the opportunity, I knew this is where I needed to be. No salary, no benefits, but I was given a proven plan, that if executed would allow me everything I once had to be a reality again. I can make a difference, doing something that makes a difference, with people who want to make a difference, at a time that makes a difference. I have the opportunity to create a moment in a person's life that might not otherwise happen. I can help businesses grow and expand. And in one short year, I have grown my income to a level it took me 24 years to do in my previous employment. I am home with my family when I want to be, I can set my own schedule, I can work if I want to, or play when I want to. My experience so far with N2 has been incredible. The people inside this organization are top-shelf. They are passionate about this business, they know how to work efficiently and effectively and they are always there to help you if you need the help. I touched on some of them in my experience so far, but let me just say this, "The opportunity for substantial reward financially, spiritually, personally is at your fingertips." It is not given to you, you have to work for it. It is not a skill that takes years of training. The keys to success are trained prior to the start, and reinforced weekly. There is a process, that if followed, anyone can be successful. The biggest pro for me was knowing that I would reap the benefit of my effort. I was not and am not limited to financial gain, limited to family time, limited to vacation time. Everything I wanted was there for me to enjoy, if I chose to put the time into learning and following through with the process. Lastly, and I touched on this in the experience so far, it's the people. The people inside N2 are awesome. They are smart, they are talented, they are giving, they are patient, and they are inspiring.

Cons

I am not trying to sound all euphoric, but what someone else might consider a con, I might consider a pro. For example, no salary and no benefits. That means I have a position that does not limit my income. Someone may have a salaried job with benefits, but someone else is telling them how much their salary is. With N2, I determine my salary. The ramp up phase might be a con. I loved it, I borrowed from my 401k to fund the first 4 months, but I knew that if I followed the plan I could eventually pay it back. I just started to. To some workday freedom might be a con, it might be easier to have that required schedule each day. For me freedom is a pro. You need self-discipline, you need to be motivated, so I guess if you aren't we've found a con. If you are organized, follow the process you will be successful.

Actively disingenuous, exploitative company

Pros

I was lucky to have some wonderful teammates at N2. Despite the abysmal leadership and the company’s complete lack of conscience, I am grateful for the relationships I took with me when I left. Those few kind humans—none of whom, unfortunately, were in positions of power—are my singular positive takeaway from my time at the company.

Cons

N2 epitomizes the toxicity, greed, and underhandedness of corporate America. They espouse Christian values while egregiously underpaying their employees, encouraging them to get second and third jobs to feed their families instead of paying them a living wage. The longer you are with the company, the more you will be expected to take on, but without hope of promotion or increase in pay. Employees are discouraged from asking for raises, no matter how much their workloads may have increased. If you’re one of the lucky ones to get a “bump,” as they call it—N2 loves to use euphemisms to prevent their employees from learning the vocabulary needed to advocate for themselves—you cannot even expect it to be commensurate with inflation. N2 says they do not want “brilliant jerks.” What they mean by that is they want hard workers who are too afraid to ask questions. They reward obedient employees with empty words of affirmation, and they penalize those who stand up for themselves and their teammates by digging through their work to find mistakes, and then making examples of them in group settings. Employees are systematically manipulated into thinking that they are stupid and have nominal value—“stay in your lane” lectures are frequent—stripping them of the empowerment to look for better work elsewhere. In short, I would not recommend anyone work at N2. A job at a terrible company is better than no job at all, but if you have another opportunity elsewhere, take it. As a human being with a unique set of talents and skillsets, you probably have a lot to offer the world. Don’t waste your time on a company that will only underpay and mistreat you.

The N2 Company Response
2y
The hostility you feel towards N2 is clear, and this is never what we want anyone to experience after interacting with us – especially not someone who spent time as a part of our team. While we disagree with nearly everything in this review (so much so we are a bit reluctant to even acknowledge it with a response), we have to, at the very least, point out the statements that are most blatantly false. To be absolutely clear: Our people are our number one asset. To say N2 rewards "obedient" team members and "penalizes" team members who speak out – and that "employees are systematically manipulated into thinking that they're stupid and have limited value" – are not only hurtful falsities, but go against everything we say, and most importantly, everything we do. We know from this disparaging review that your mind is completely made up about N2 – nothing we say will have any effect – but we do hope you're able to land at a company you feel is the best fit for you.
