Pros

the maintenance team is the best leasing agents are there to help the best we could, despite upper management

Cons

altering time cards to reflect no overtime. being called toxic from upper management. vendors going unpaid. having to deal with resident issues that SCION creates. ie, mold after units flooding (could have been prevented if we paid vendors), filthy units upon move in, furniture torn to shreds upon move in, etc.

Pros

-Flexible schedules, which is great for college students -Pay is more than University Jobs -Free parking -If you want a promotion, can easily get it

Cons

-Unless the property GM is amazing, expect annual management changes -Corporate does not care about residents or their safety or how the property runs (Say they don't have the budget for an extra security guard or to update our system so it doesn't run on windows 7, but spends $7000 on a snowblower we used ONCE) -No incentives to get leases signed or get property to 100% -Bonuses are performance based with like 8 things you are graded on, which you don't know until you actually get the bonus -Part timers do not get raises -Corporate says they will assist properties, but do not respond to urgent questions for a week or two, claiming they are busy with "other issues" -No one knows exactly what a policy is, you will hear a different thing from each person you ask

Pros

While working here you gain experience in the student housing market.

Cons

As an employee in student housing and seeing others in my field getting more of a benefit frustrates me. We get no additional bonus for signing leases (whereas everyone else in the field that works at competing companies do) and the same thing goes with discounts for their rent. The company is bogus and clearly does not care for keeping their employees happy. I recently graduated from college and not even one "congratulations" from any higher-ups.
