Pros

Working at Zappos is amazing. The aspects I value the most are my caring co-workers, great benefits, fun work environment, and exciting perks. Working at Zappos is a delight!

Cons

I work within the Technology group, and the even though the company culture and values are great, there's still a ton of pressure to deliver. Not a criticism, but when you're working on multiple projects and other work continues to get added to your plate, at times it can be overly stressful and challenging. Again, this isn't a criticism, just something to be aware of.

Pros

They provide free catered meals every day for lunch. They also gave their employees free amazing insurance (medical, dental and vision). We also had an on site gym, basketball courts, relaxing break areas, and the occasional water balloon fight. Hard work is recognized under most management, and promotional opportunities are there if you work for them.

Cons

Zappos focuses so much energy on it's culture and promoting their image that they forget about the employees. So much money is spent on parties, new break rooms, and other perks while the employees are making very low wages compared to other warehouse jobs. The new gym, basketball courts, and fancy break room that were added within the last year remain mostly unused by the employees. People would rather make a living wage. A large portion of the workers commute there from other areas and simply can't making a living after you pay for gas. The pay rate is a joke, and the raises are minimal and rare. You have to pass an evaluation every six months and meet certain qualifications, which are hard to accomplish. Then the raise is a mere $0.35. The Kentucky warehouses are being taken over by Amazon later this year, which was a slap in the face to many employees who are dedicated to the Zappos brand. Amazon is notorious for making their employees a low priority. It has already been announced that employees will have to start paying for their insurance benefits and aren't receiving much of a raise once this change goes into effect. I think for the low rate of pay and extreme warehouse conditions, this job just isn't worth the effort any more.

Pros

It's an ever changing environment, which I personally like, but it's not for everyone.

Cons

If you don't like a lot of change then working at Zappos may not be for you.
