I'm glad I zapped over to Zappos for the best job I've had in 10 years. http://twitter.zappos.com/employee_tweets
Pros
Zappos.com was a relief to join as I've worked for other Call centers who only measure how much I make for them and how quick I can get the customer off the line to make more money on the next sales call. Zappos is about customer service. Training is top notch and this is a company that for the product we offer could just be another one of the hundreds of websites. Our leadership team is unique and they stand apart from the crowd as a always put the customer first. A phrase I've heard before many times in my life but am actually experiencing here. The employees live and breathe this in every call and every customer is treated as we would want to be treated. I like the company opportunity if you are a good performer they ensure you are rewarded. Business seems good even with the bad economy.
Cons
Some customers are difficult as we deal with a lot of people that are not the Mall crowd. They want a very specific type of shoe. We take a lot of time to learn the million different pairs of shoes, handbags, and apparel and accessories that the company offers so can't complain too much. With about 1000 employees you may not have the ability to jump jobs and move your career quickly especially in LV as the economy stinks bad right now and the Casinos etc are laying off a lot of their phone people. The good news is Zappos doesn't have a problem with people leaving on their own, they like this place.
