Overwork and stress

Pros

I guess receiving lunch , sometimes, on the company...

Cons

-workload on staffing managers are unbearable. your title is staffing manager, but you do over 9 departments in one body (compliance management, staffing, recruiting, onboarding, separation, write-ups, payroll, billing, the list goes on and on) -company continues to say that the SM position has the most stressful job and does nothing to emotionally and mentally support their employees. -upper management doesn't care about your mental health nor the amount of emotional abuse that could happen in your office and just say "well we've all been through that".. gaslighting is a con at home care assistance -the amount of pressure and stress put onto a staffing manager on-call is uncalled for. on-call every other day and every other week. I was told that I'll be on-call every 4 weekends and ONCE a week on a week day. -work/life balance is not applicable. when you're off, you're actually not off. they EXPECT you to have your work phone even though you're not on call because it's a "requirement". In other words, have no work/life balance because it's mandatory to have our work phones with us even if we're not working. This job gave me PTSD and anxiety. I get small panic attacks hearing my personal phone vibrate thinking that it's telerep or my boss about to yell at me as to why the caregiver is the caregiver we sent to the client.

Pros

I feel that in the time I was with HCA, I had a profoundly positive impact on my community, and for that, I'm immensely grateful. wonderful, dedicated local team I worked with. I learned a ton, and made the most of the experience, even though I had little support from senior sales leadership. For the industry, if you're a strong performer the compensation is great. Yet there's a caveat to that - they keep changing what they commit to which repeatedly will hurt you financially - whether it's base pay, bonuses, cars etc.

Cons

My star ratings only relate to the sales division. I've never writen a review, yet I feel it's essential to share for any prospective candidates. I'm not a "bitter low performer." I've been a top performer my entire career and was for HCA, yet over and over again, they made a commitment and didn't follow through. my career has spanned decades, and have never experienced a company that has repeatedly broken my trust. Lastly, I've never worked for an organization where there's little talk about outcomes or quality of care; in other industries at national meetings, you'd have patients/customers share their stories of the difference you made. This never happened at HCA. I'm all about growing the bottom line AND making a difference in the world. You need to model this to inspire your team.

Pros

Strong health benefits and generous flex time. Vehicle allowance and marketing budget. Oblivious and self-absorbed local management lacks qualities to effectively lead; therefore, if you thrive on getting paid well to slack off, be petty and get away with breaking health care laws - this is the place for you!

Cons

Outlandish fabrication of job description, expectations and workload. Incompetent local and corporate leadership with suffocating office politics. Arrogant Client Care Managers who think they are equivalent to God yet aren't privy to side effects of basic medications and recovery processes. Sadly, the customers and their families get taken advantage of by this ignorance due to a heavy focus from corporate demanding unnecessary hours or extra staff. Inconsistent communication from corporate to local branches. Ambiguous direction pertaining to what the policies and procedures of the company are regarding appropriate clientele for local branches.
