Pros

- External interpretation of company trajectory - Talented mid and lower level staff who are all extremely supportive and hard working.
 - Percussive Therapy and Compression line offers legitimate health benefits.

Cons

- Extremely toxic culture of fear permeating throughout entire company.
 - Company strategy is all reactionary and driven by a need to be first to market regardless of how poorly planned executions are. - Delusional organizational structure that is unsustainable for scaling company - Employee review process exists only to find excuses not to provide employee bonus’s and is not used for executives. - “Leadership” team comprised of unethical and unscrupulous people.
Foreword: I encourage everyone curious about this company to take note of the obvious distinctions between the positive and negative reviews housed on this board. Check the separate "Thergun" page for reviews too. Every positive review is a fabrication and devoid of any detail because it is all manufactured to keep up the facade. You can tell because they're posted within a short window of one another, whereas all of the negative reviews provide very specific criticism.
This place reminds me of the Wizard of Oz. Shiny Emerald City on the outside, amateurish narcissists and tyrants behind the curtain. There is never a single comprehensive brand strategy or “North Star” steering the ship. The guiding principles of the company are re-determined weekly, and often for things as ridiculous as an individual comment on social platforms, or a competitor releasing a promo. The company doesn’t *actually* know what it’s identity is, and with the attention span of a dog chasing squirrels, will fluctuate how they view themselves by the week depending on external factors like a comment made by the CEO’s friend, or an obscure, inconsequential vertical where their main competitor is outperforming them. The company loves to constantly pat themselves on the back for this “culture” they’ve fostered, but it’s rooted in nothing more than the public reception to the hard work the rank-and-file crawl through the mud to produce. New employees realize it immediately. Constantly juxtaposing open threats to terminate people for trivial mistakes, with marching out the usual suspects for a weekly pep talk is not a culture, its gaslighting. Making your entire global company sit through 45 minutes of Zoomed book reports on individual employee lunches every week isn’t either. Unfortunately, they dont understand this because there is zero self awareness (or perhaps there is) and revenue is the only North Star that matters beyond the hollow language.
From constantly claiming to “only hire the best”, to watching one talented person after another enter like a deer in the headlights or burn out completely before being discarded… From celebrating irrational behavior by happily acknowledging it openly, to berating people and flip flopping your opinion based off what will allow you to save face in the moment… From being unable to determine a priority when asked point blank, to demanding verbatim that every menial discussion or correspondence require your involvement. From butchering sales forecasting, to blaming everyone but yourselves. Even acquiring entire companies with no plan in place for their integration or blowing large sums of money for avoidable reasons and pretending it didn’t happen. The list of self-sabotaging, productivity throttling actions is endless. No one in this company actually believes the empty “We’re a family” platitudes because family is never thought of while making haphazard and hasty decisions that have massive ripple effects for the people downstream left to pick-up the pieces while the people making them go on vacation. Leadership is comprised of people clinging to their seat at the table before their equity pays dividends. They constantly project their own fear down on to the teams they “guide” while throwing anyone under the bus to protect themselves. Most are extremely unprofessional and/or lie frequently. Some of them are entirely unfit to be in their roles, but have been placed there after multiple talent acquisition disasters and poor planning demanded it, much to the dismay of everyone else. Titles amongst the group get altered and juggled frequently, protecting some as the company has long outgrown their skillset. Some positions have been gifted entirely and it’s an unwritten company mandate that everyone respect the politics that come along with that, or else, regardless of how shamelessly inept, fraudulent, and exploitative they might be. This is to be expected though, as nothing is more consistent at Therabody than the lies HR tells and revolving door they preside over.

Pros

I once received a theragun.

Cons

Where do I even start with this dumpster fire of a company. So much potential squandered away by the toxic leadership team. I have never seen someone hire such a team of rockstars, with pedigrees of success in their job histories, be stripped of all their creative thinking, problem solving and charisma to become yes men (people) for him. Leadership tactics are that of a caveman: Talk you in circles until you submit to whatever terrible idea is baked up in their brain. The need to control every insignificant detail makes me wonder if there wasn't a billion-dollar head start, they would be living at the homeless camp at LAX. They also have this very odd obsession with Apple, like unhealthy obsession. The tactics of the company are to portray innovation, when in reality they steal ideas from others and claim as their own R&D. I quickly realized the plan was to extort any useful information and then be dispensed. The onboarding was more of a waterboarding as they just throw as much at you as possible to see if you will drown. Zero Support, Zero Structure. A planned attrition. I have never seen a company celebrate giving people money vs opening new points of distribution. Leadership just wants to be able to brag to his other billionaire buddies that he hoodwinked a bunch of the founders friends into investing into this house of cards. Then, um lets talk about um um um, HR um. Take a toastmasters class and learn how to public speak, its unbelievably painful to um sit through um space filler words and fake excitement. Kudos to them for creating the most toxic work environment I have ever had the um displeasure of being a part of. you are a kind soul with nothing but good intentions, and it pains me to see what has been done to your company and vision. You sold your soul to the devil, but I hope the success you have had is worth it, because the company’s name has turned sour in the industry where you grew your roots. Too worried about the sizzle, you forgot about the steak, and that will catch up sooner or later. Most likely after the CEO puts on his dog and pony show, props the valuation up on smoke and mirrors, then sell to some poor sap, or go public and get money from a bunch of poor saps. Either way, the rug is going to get pulled out sooner or later.

Pros

This place used to be a fun place to work. It was always a bit crazy at the leadership level, but we had a voice and could see the impact we were working towards.

Cons

Leadership: In an over 15+ career with challenging leaders - this is the most toxic. I have never met so many two faced individuals who will throw literally anyone under the bus to self serve. They very much pretend to care but please know it is all an act and all the "glowing" reviews are from these people. They stay because they are in too deep and probably do get decent bonuses for doing the dirty work. Notice how the CEO has a 0% approval rating - I will leave it at that. Lastly, if you are a woman - don't come here. It is a patriarchy, sexist and misogynistic culture and you will never get the same pay or respect as a man. It actually shocks me they have not been sued by some of the things that have happened that they have buried. No one who has a moral compass will thrive at this company.
