Thrive Market has an incredible, supportive team people here genuinely care and are eager to help each other grow and succeed. There’s a strong spirit of collaboration and camaraderie across teams. The flexible PTO and comprehensive benefits help you take care of yourself, too. Most importantly, the mission is inspiring. Thrivers are truly driven by a shared purpose to make healthy, sustainable living easy and accessible for everyone, and you can feel that passion in the day-to-day work.

Cons

Work-life balance can be challenging. While there’s no formal expectation to always be online, it’s common to see leaders working late or messaging on Slack during evenings and weekends, which can create an unspoken pressure to stay connected outside of normal hours.

Great place to work!

Pros

- Thrive is hiring some of the best people in retail right now, there are so many people with extensive backgrounds to learn from - Thrive is investing in their employees- I just went through a 2 day negotiation program and they offer a Growth Grant if you want to do continuous learning in your field. - Everyone at Thrive is so kind and happy to help you! - Remote-first company, but we do two offsites a year in LA, which is nice to be able to see the team in person

Cons

- Thrive has been around for 10 years but still has the vibe of a start up which can be good and bad. There are a lot of processes that need improvement and need to be automated (which we are working on), but it's important to know your role will be very manual to start - There are only 12 category managers today, and no associate buyers, so know that you will be doing the work of associate buyers as well - Data is very limited right now, but I know that is something leadership is working on

Mostly a great place to work

Pros

I work with a lot of wonderful, smart, highly competent people. I have an extremely supportive manager and feel connected to my team despite the remote-first environment. Being remote-first is another major pro for me. Having a somewhat flexible daily schedule is great, and I feel like it shows the company's trust in its employees. The time off policy is generous. Overall, as a whole company, the vibe is good!

Cons

I feel that the head of my department does not respect the knowledge and expertise of those working under them. They are often unwilling to listen to reason-based objections or alternate ideas, and even upper managers seem afraid to contradict them. They tend to get way too involved in the minutiae of people's work and decisions, micro-managing projects based on flights of fancy, to the detriment of final products and outcomes. This exacerbates what can already be, in terms of workload, a chaotic atmosphere. Frequently changing strategies and priorities handed down from above often have the whole team scrambling to change everything without having a chance to think critically about what we're doing.
