Great mission, poor leadership, and lack of structure

Pros

- The mission to improve student wellbeing is meaningful and rewarding when the work aligns with it. - Some teammates are kind, collaborative, and genuinely care about doing good work. - Broad exposure to projects offers quick learning early in your career.

Cons

- Leadership often lacks alignment and direction, leading to frequent pivots and unclear priorities. - Processes are inconsistent or nonexistent, creating inefficiency and confusion. - The culture can be toxic. While some people are supportive, others “drink the Kool-Aid” and engage in gossip and disrespectful behavior. - Little to no DE&I efforts, which is reflected in what behaviors are excused. - Workload expectations are high, with minimal focus on sustainable pace. - Career growth paths are unclear, and advancement can feel based on favoritism or a need to retain employees rather than performance.

Pros

Unlimited PTO, Remote Work anywhere in the US,

Cons

I'm going to be very frank. The "culture crew" at this company is instructed to come on Glassdoor and leave good reviews to ensure that the bad reviews are pushed to the bottom of the list. So positive reviews need to be taken with a grain of salt. This company is the definition of a good ol boys club. Csuite executives lack true understanding of what their lower level employees face daily and fail to understand what their clientele is actually needing. Weekly company wide calls exists for leadership to brag about their luxury lifestyles and pitty the students they serve for experiencing a mental health crisis. Multiple people have left the company due to how out of touch leadership is with their middle and lower class workers. They hire of a lot of people of color but only for internal facing roles. Its very uncomfortable for the people of color who work there because leadership doesn't know how to engage with communities outside of their own. So all of their diversity hires mean nothing, because they do not actual value them. Its conform to us and you will be fired. Given that its a start up, leadership is much more concerned with making money fast and pleasing their investors rather than actually addressing the needs of its clients in crisis. So many talented and brilliant people work for this company with the hopes of doing meaningful and good work, but their talents are used in a minimal capacity rather than actually contributing to the work of being "thought leaders" as the company loves to claim. This company went through rounds of layoffs in the spring of 2023 due to its inability to address a change in market needs. Nothing can be critically analyzed without the fear of being fired for challenging the company.

Misalignment with mission

Pros

Talented, hardworking, and collaborative team members who are supportive of one another and committed to doing strong work. Being fully remote allows for flexibility.

Cons

Leadership is primarily focused on profit and appearances, not people. Employees are not respected—priorities constantly shift and there is little regard for employees’ time or workload. The organization lacks alignment. Teams are siloed. It is unnecessarily difficult to get work done. Feedback is ignored. Transparency is minimal. People are let go or reassigned with little to no communication, which creates a culture of uncertainty and distrust. Favoritism is noticeable and impacts how employees are treated and evaluated. Workloads increase with no additional resources. Expectations are unclear and change frequently. Customers are moved between service levels and changes are made that negatively impact them without proper communication, leaving frontline employees to fix the confusion and frustration without support. Leadership talks about trust but does not demonstrate it. There is a clear disconnect between what is said and what actually happens. Overall, the environment is chaotic, disorganized, and reactive. It feels like there is no real plan, and employees are left to figure things out on their own. This is not a stable or supportive place to work.

Our people are a core strength of TimelyCare, and the work they do matters and is very much appreciated. We are committed to creating an environment where employees feel supported, respected, and able to do their best work. We are listening to feedback and building more structured, scalable ways of working so that navigating a fast-paced environment is more clear, consistent, and effective. Financial health is necessary to carry out our important work. Our mission to foster student success and improve the health and well-being of campus communities requires strong alignment, accountability, and trust in how we operate day to day, and we are continuing to invest in our people and leaders to strengthen that experience across the organization.
