      Pros

      Managment and team really does care about you! The "no ego" that they preach is really there. One of the cofounders came up to me at orientation, and I had no idea he was a cofounder for quite a while-- he talked to me like a real human being and I wasn't uncomfortable at all. I feel like at this point I can turn to anyone, and they will help me. They will also help me implement new ideas, new methods and best practices. I'm also not micromanaged at all, which is extremely helpful as well, I actually get more done this way!

      Cons

      With it being a startup, we're working at a breakneck speed here for sure. Things need to get done quickly, and fast, and then they get changed. I knew and was warned of this coming in, so it's not that big of a surprise to me. Also, with me not being at Headquarters, and instead being at the second headquarters in Omaha, things do typically get lost in translation.

      Growing pains, but still the best place I've ever worked

      Pros

      The most approachable leadership team I've experienced. The "no ego" part of the core values is taken seriously and starts at the top. I'm in a role where it's not uncommon (and unfortunately sometimes, expected) to be talked down to, and I've never once experienced this here. The C-suite have all been kind, friendly, receptive to feedback, and seem to genuinely care about the employee experience here. I think the company culture is pretty great. I'm surrounded by people who are all incredibly passionate about what we're doing here, regardless of their role. We do a lot of really cool things with our customer restaurants and have created an environment where Toast employees are consistently huge advocates and vocal supporters of our customer base.

      Cons

      As to be expected with a company that's growing so incredibly fast, there are some gaps. Cross company communication seems to be one of the bigger ones, and I know that's actively being discussed.

      Great growth company, poor remote employee experience

      Pros

      I love the flexibility of work schedule, the fun company culture, and amazing growth ride we're on. My manager genuinely supports me to grow into any role in the company I want to target.

      Cons

      Process are not completely flushed out or sometimes even built yet so there's sometimes a struggle getting support- especially as a remote employee. Benefits are increasing every year, but are still not a driving force to attract or hold employees.
