Some coworkers were great and you can just hang out with them for the whole shift.

Cons

Management is too strict. This is a security job, not a career job. If you want people to care about the job more, try giving raises.

Pros

Top Guard is one of the largest private security firms in the local area. There is 24/7 dispatcher support in case you have a situation that arises you have a point of contact. There is room for growth so you can move upward.

Cons

Top Guard has a high turn over rate which equates to you as the worker, being expendable. Rather than a manager doing his job which is to manage, it is easier for them to get rid of you. I gave up my life for this company. When I received a call to cover a shift 95% of the time I would cover it. I had a few minor schedule conflicts but nothing major. I even sent an email to the Vice President, his response told me that he was powerless, or just did not care. You are the Vice President and there is NOTHING you can do? I am glad that our military does not operate like this.

Semi-flexible schedules, some contracts pay fairly well, work isn't too hard, and has contracts all over the Hampton Roads area.

Cons

I have next to no respect for almost everyone in the company. Site leadership believes that they're the only ones with good ideas and discourage creative solutions to problems.
