Pros

Employee Discount, Sales experience, fun coworkers

Cons

First, just so you know I'm not leaving this review out of spite; I willingly left Tory Burch after almost two years and I was that locations top sales person- Let me tell you the truth about working for Tory Burch: This company needs a major overhaul in how they treat associates. They want the moon and above from seasoned sales associates but micro manage them to pieces. You will feel like you have been overlooked or crossed by management and/or coorperate atleast 10 times while you work here. That feeling you will get of being inadequate is just because no matter how much you exceed numbers there is always something new for managers to nit pick. Oh-- and you will do all of this for 12 dollars an hour! Yup. The 3% commission is taxed so heavily you will probably still not be able to pay your bills so I guess take comfort in the fact that you get a discount off a bag you are already sick of looking at. As a sales associate you will have times where you feel like your brain is going to explode. You have clients texting you, calling you at the store and constant walk in foot traffic all while managers watch you on camera wondering why aren't you in shoes or has anyone helped that lady at sunglasses. When you think you just cant take it anymore you get a bad customer review because the poor customer you were helping in shoes didn't realize you are multitasking to the extreme and they felt like they didn't have your undivided attention-- then when you feel like youd rather bathe with a toaster then show up to work you get to have a "touch base" where they find something wrong with your otherwise perfect performance. By the time I left this company I would have taken a job ANYWHERE to get away.

Pros

Discount. Co Workers (depends on coworkers, mine were great)

Cons

High Turnover Lack of Responsibility Barely (if ever) promotes from within Lack of communication - Not enough intel on events / promotions (will have you looking crazy in front of customers as you don’t know what you’re talking about) - Will do projects etc. and when done will be deemed unnecessary /or unneeded anymore If you’re not white, blonde, and a "minion / yes-man" you’re not going anywhere career wise, so don’t bother. Unequal pay (will try to lowball you beware, always counter) Hours No growth. The “growth” that happens is in disguise. They’ll change you’re title, you’ll have more responsibilities with little to absolutely no change in compensation or authority. Customers can pretty much get away with anything. Sales Associates goals do not reflect the trends of the current market BOH is not respected and hardly any room for growth (even though they can do everything in the store) Managers are weighed down with responsibilities of NOT JUST the store but also the problems that have trickled down through corporate that they should be able to solve themselves...but you know..... because of the lack of qualified people problems are pushed onto others or just never solved at all. STOP OPENING STORES. JUST STOP. STOP OPENING STORES. JUST STOP. STOP OPENING STORES. JUST STOP.

Pros

To work for a company that bares the name of an incredible woman, humanitarian, daughter, and mother.

Cons

I was so excited to work for this company. Once I set foot in my new store, I saw that all the promises and pitches made to me by the 7 (yes 7) interviewers I spoke with in the recruiting process were lies. I had a district manager that didn't even visit my store or see me until I was with the company for 2 months. They had no structured training programs for new managers what so ever. I trained for one week in another store and was thrown into my employee relation issue, LP violation infested store. What a nightmare. Most of the team was devious and keniving and after begging for 6 months for an HR investigation, they finally showed up and turned it into a witch hunt for me! I had been in retail management for over 20 years and never had any issues with a company, HR, or employees like I did at this store. It was the lowest point in my career and I blame the inept people in higher management and the HR department. The customers are also unbearable at best. Extremely demanding and disrespectful and most of them are Asians traveling in the states for cheaper designer items. I felt like I was running an outlet store!
