Pros

HQ building is nice, summer hrs program (must be approved by manager), on-site cafeteria (not subsidized, food is mediocre), on-site gym facilities (not free), on-site dry cleaning (not free).

Cons

Really old legacy IT systems and too much bureaucracy between departments to move forward with any relevant improvements. Company's competitors continuously blow toys out the water when it comes to customer satisfaction at the stores and online. There's favoritism to keep promoting some people while others are let go. 401k contributions were reduced due to the economy, raises are a joke.

Pros

Be around Toys. The kid in me likes that I guess.

Cons

Hours are terrible. If you don't trick someone into opening up a scam Credit card, they severely cut your hours. They Tell (not ask) You to come in on days off. They do not train you at all Raises are nonexistent No registers are even used. They only open Rzone register and Customer Service. So, while I am trying to help people with video games, I also have a huge line of people waiting to check out. Talk about stress for a crappy pay. I have to set the plano and everything and I have not seen one raise. They are never positive. No matter how hard you work, they point out what is wrong. Customer Service is a joke. You CAN NOT have Customer Service and 4 people working the whole store. You yell at us for doing bad at GSAT (Surveys) When it is not our fault we are so limited.

Pros

The flexibility of scheduling allows part-timers to be off when they need to be. Most of the associates are friendly.

Cons

After the Christmas season hours are cut to the bone. Sometimes there is only one person on the salesfloor. Part-timers get 8-12 hours a week (if they're lucky) until business picks up in the spring. Fewer associates working adds up to fewer and fewer people doing more and more work.
