Pros

Typical job in which 'sales associates' work the floor (includes shelving, organizing, assisting customers in one department) aside from front-end support jobs lead to extra pocket money. The work itself is not terribly hard and those willing to partake in the holiday shopping season will certainly welcome the extra hours. Hours & availability are all negotiable, though some instances they will not be able to accommodate. However, for the most part (particularly in Wayne store), they will try to fit it to your schedule. Also, those working part-time will get discounts too. So if you're looking for certain boardgames, console games, books, gifts, etc, what better can it get! Also you can check out the clearance items after the season is over too.

Cons

Too many long hours. Christmas season is very hectic (need to be prepared mentally) and hourly wage is average for this job.

Pros

good employees and and innovative management team. Working with parents that saw thier childrens experiences though their childrens eyes was quite heartwarming and mad going to work each day tolerable. The employees were generally young high school students that had a high turnover rate so you had to weed out the losers quite frequently. The christmas season was a little tough because you had to fire so many good employees that gave blood sweat and tears during "season.' It was just a way of life....use em and fire em! But I suppose ther was no other way or someone would have thought of it.

Cons

too many hours and lacking abilities of regional supervisors

Pros

As a part time job while at university or school this job is fine. BEcause the stores have a large number of employees they have the capacity to replace shifts if you need to take time off for exams etc. Another benefit for workers who are relativly inexperienced, is the absence of food, its is rare to find a workplace for younger people thays isnt fast food, everything is clean ,and you dont finish shifts smelling of burgers.

Cons

Ones role in the store is unknown. Many shifts i have been instructed to ¨walk around and make sure everytthing is OK¨ for five hours. No real training into how the store works or details on the stock are given. training consists of a video on OH&S and store policies. consequently, any question from a custoemr that goes beyond ¨where is ...¨ needs to be transfered to a manager. Very rude, bitter and bad tempered customers, or people who expect vauge decriptions of ¨a toy¨ to be in store.
