Pros

I worked for Toys r us for 7 years. I had prior It jobs before but I really consider that place my start in IT. The people and culture were great and the atmosphere was easy going. Their Benefits and compensation were really great at the time. I really didn't appreciate that aspect until I moved on to other companies.

Cons

A lot of their systems were proprietary and Antiquated. Found out I had lost quite a bit of skills after leaving there. Pay could have been better although their benefits and compensation were very good.

Pros

It is a job so it is better than nothing. You are told by management to approach every guest and talk to people so that can be a pro or a con depending on your personality.

Cons

You are constantly nagged by management to get customers to sign up for loyalty cards and credit cards and are never praised for selling. I started at 8.50 an hour and minimum wage is 8.00 and the annual raise is only around 20 to 30 cents a year. The hours are usually a con because you will always be scheduled on Saturdays unless you are a full time employee. Full time employees usually get what I considered to be the best shifts: weekday mornings and Sundays.
