Pros

My managers respected my advice and presentation ideas both on the sales floor and in the Apparel backroom. Freedom to express myself without interference but certainly guidance with respect towards each other is always important to me. I was trusted with a significant dollar valued inventory and I accomplished the goals set before me. I really enjoyed working here.

Cons

Had to be a Manager to work full time.

Pros

Great culture. It's very important to develop talent from within. External recruiting outside of the Sr Analyst level is very rare.

Cons

Retail so limited vacation time, have to work on Black Friday.

Pros

10% discount for employees. Used to be a lot more pros, but at this point that's about it. Maybe a pro could be that you get the first chance to see new products coming in the store, before official release date, you have the first opportunity to see good sales just by being there before the store opens, etc.

Cons

Staff turnover is at an all time high including Store level management. We've lost all our managers and assistant managers, they've hired some new management but those new folks have no clue how to run a toy store during Christmas rush time, no experience. My store currently has no manager, the new assistant manager started 2 weeks ago, and another assistant manager started a month ago. Most of the staff has left when we started losing management and then more management started leaving as we started losing staff. Customer satisfaction surverys are at an all time low at our store. We don't even have an HR person to hire folks as our HR manager quit shortly after the manager did. This whole situation started shortly after Walmart announced $11.50/hour or more minimum pay, and we lost several team members. New staff hires come in and corporate is unwilling to pay more than $8-$9/hour. Target now pays $11.50, heck even Burger King and Wendys are paying $11/hour in my town, yet corporate at ToysRUs is unwilling to pay more than $9. Very few people applying for the job, and the ones that are applying are very unproductive, uninterested in the job, just there to get a check and do nothing they aren't absolutely required to do. Without management or leadership the situation is even worse in this situation. Trucks are coming in and no one available to unload them, boxes all over the store left unopened. loading dock totally choked with backlog due to no staff.. Wish I could give them Zero stars. but 1 star is as low as I can go
