-I would NOT advise anyone to work for this company if you value working for an organization that truly values and appreciates their hard working employees. Over the past year they have implemented a ton of new changes that clearly showed a complete lack of knowledge from upper management on the day to day workings of their own employees. They took their highest paid sales reps (and the ones who had been around the longest) and decided to have them focus solely on new sales; making them work twice as hard for half the pay they were originally making. They then reconstructed the commission plan so that you had to achieve two things to receive full commission; no more than three cancels and you had to hit a higher sales goal than you had before [seems fair enough]. Then while people are adjusting to their new goals they decide that they are now going to require you to log a certain number of phone calls as an additional requirement in your commission plan [another useless hurdle to jump over but not impossible]. The final kicker is that the following month they decide to inform their employees (two weeks prior to commission paychecks coming out) that all those phone calls that they logged had to be at least 30 seconds long for them to count towards reaching your commission goal. Now keep in mind, majority of the team lost thousands of dollars that they were expecting to receive that month with no way of rectifying the situation in such a short time span. Management was made aware of the fact that many dealers prefer email over phone exchanges (some had even requested it) and that most of the phone calls we were making were going to voicemail (and it’s not always practical to make sure your voicemail is exactly 30 seconds long to hit some ridiculous quota). It is ironic that a company that specializes in ONLINE advertising is forcing their employees to use an outdated old school metric system, even if it means going against our customers wishes. You could have incredibly high sales numbers, always hit your goals, stay in the top tier of your commission for months at a time..and management could care less because it doesn’t fit the “mold” they are trying to fit you in. Management should spend more time focusing on employees who aren’t hitting their sales goals and less time reprimanding their top sales people for the methods they use to achieve their high sales numbers (what works for one employee doesn’t always work for another).
-As you can imagine, office morale is at an all time low. Upper management could care less about your thoughts and opinions, if you disagree or ruffle feathers you will be the next one to be fired. Isn’t that pathetic? Would you want to invest years of your life into a company that thinks you are so easily replaceable (even when you pull record number sales in for them, which is what you were hired to do in the first place)? Would you want to work for a company where you could be pulled into HR’s office and fired without so much as a verbal warning prior or any indication that something was wrong from management? Do you really want to spend your days getting awesome work performance reviews only to be blindsided and on the chopping block a few months later? Those are the things you can expect working for this company.
