Pros

Absolutely nothing I can think of.

Cons

My tenure with Traveler's started with lies. The recruiter mislead me to believe the company culture was more lax and I left an awesome startup to come here! Silly me. This place is policed by HR and you can't even sneak away to use the restroom in your own home because there were so many meetings — I was remote. My manager paired me with a contractor and in the first week let me know that I was going to be replacing her. Immediately, it was a tense and awful situation. The contractor took every chance she could to throw a wrench in my way and talk poorly to the manager about me because she knew she was being cut. He acted like I was crazy when I expressed this concern with him. What did the manager think was going to happen? Very toxic. I've been a UX / product design for 7 years and I spent NO TIME working in Figma and ALL my time in meetings and telling people over and over and over what I was doing. This company is meeting happy. They have meetings to talk about past meetings and meetings they plan to have in the future. They also have very lousy perks, if any at all. The HR person I spoke with acted like I was insane because I told her I wasn't used to such a strict corporate culture. If you take any days off for an emergency, there's a potential you could end up owing the company $$$ if you haven't accrued the days and this place is pretty nasty about it. The pay is really poor as well. Not competitive at all. They also play the game of cutting your salary based on your location which is customary now, but they take it to the extreme lows of the range.

Pros

- Incredible work life balance - Nice coworkers - Stable and low-stress for the most part. Easy to coast and meet expectations - Good enough tech stack and working on modernizing - Health insurance is fine. I pay $160/month out of pocket for a HDHP for myself (mid-20s)

Cons

- It is a legacy insurance company so pay is not a priority. No stocks, bonuses, and minimal raises. - 401k match vests after only 3 years - Useless forced return to office 3 days a week just to get on a Zoom calls - No transparency into job levels or promotions

Pros

Variety of claims jobs and willingness to train if you are looking to break in.

Cons

Commercial litigation claims adjusters are paid well below average; no clear outline on compensation (bonuses, raises, stock options); no office perks or benefits; company is embracing the bare minimum for remote work and losing employees because of it; no work flexibility post-COVID return
