This unicorn has horns

Pros

I enjoyed my time at Truepill while it lasted, and the baseline pay was pretty good.

Cons

Was laid off just a few months after joining Truepill. Cryptic, 15 minutes meetings were put on calendars the night before. My manager looked like a hostage reading from a script as his boss looked on, barely paying attention. Per a public statement issued by the CEO, after years of "growing top line revenue," the company must now chart a "path to profitability." Apparently, this new vision came to Sid all of a sudden and all at once, as another new hire was laid off in the same week they started. Take the work if you can get it, but keep in mind that you owe this company nothing and do not stop applying for roles elsewhere. You are expendable and at risk of being laid off from the moment you sign your offer.

Terrible mismanagement that lead to huge layoffs

Pros

My team was incredible and supportive, learned a ton and grew skill set

Cons

Senior leadership needs to actually take the time to listen to their employees. Work life balance for many teams is terrible with very poor perks compared to practically all other unicorn startups. How can you say you are trying to build the future of healthcare when you barely take care of your own employees? It feels as though our massive growth the past two years was all for optics, because now 15% of the company has lost their jobs.

No protection for employees

Pros

Insurance is good, the people who work there are great, job is simply straightforward but meticulous.

Cons

Management does not care for the employees at the bottom who have kept the company running during the pandemic. They do not protect employees. People are testing positive for COVID and they are sweeping things under the rug to keep the company running. They allow people to come in sick and handle meds during this pandemic.
