Pros

Benefits, some departments provide flexibility

Cons

Truist's work culture is horrible from the outdated technology and applications to the no existence tech support for employees. Tech support is out-sourced to a foreign country and you can barely understand the representatives. Human Resources is a complete joke and not for the employee, they are for the employer even if the employer lacks integrity. They will use confidential medical information provided to them against you. BB&T legacy employees are hillbillies and complete idiots that are placed in leadership positions because they formulate cliques and alliances with each other. Financial Crimes Department: FUSE leadership was the absolute worst. They literally only give 1% raises and sabotage any chances of transferring into a different dept. Mgmt will set you up to get terminated if you are against their unethical agenda.

Pros

Excellent Benefits, stock options participation for employees, Excellent Health Benefits, 401k match up to 6%, quarterly bonuses if certain goals are met.

Cons

I've worked in the banking industry for over 15 years. Never thought the day would come when behaviors such as, being on time for work, rarely calling off, focusing on details to keep bank losses down and excellent audit reviews, being a team player by helping out where needed, making referrals that Benefits the clients, being dependable and reliable. Those attributes possess little to no affect in your performance review. I made a few irm referrals but not enough to get a rating above unsatisfactory. My former manager said it is totally about the numbers!!! Needless to say I resigned and is currently working for a bank that appreciate excellent work ethics and it is a very important part of our overall yearly performance review 👏. Just received my yearly performance review, my overall rating is exceed expectations, although i did not hit all of my goals numbers!!It feels wonderful to be appreciated!!!!!

Pros

There are some nice people who have the misfortune to work for Truist

Cons

Very clique-ish middle management. If you aren’t from North Carolina, didn’t go to college with, and are not in the same sorority as your manager, you will be treated as an outsider - no matter how much experience you have or hire good you are at your job. You will never get promoted and you will be harassed. Ultra-conservative culture, outdated and entrenched processes that are totally inefficient. Making suggestions or disagreeing is totally frowned upon. Manager think they are cheerleaders and that they don’t have to have any product knowledge, remove obstacles or make decisions. All the pressure is on the knowledge workers. This is a backward, small town bank that is pretending that it can function as the sixth largest bank in the country. They need to expel all their leadership and start over with outsiders who never worked at BB&T (what Truist was before the merger). The treat smart, productive, independent thinkers like the enemy. I wouldn’t be surprised if this bank doesn’t make it.
