Thanks for leaving a review! Transitioning from a Seattle office to a widely distributed team over the last few years has been a big change, but I am so glad to hear that you are also enjoying the remote environment and your team. Retention is a crucial team at Trupanion, educating pet parents on the importance and value of continuing their policy. If there is anything more we could add to our training or onboarding resources, I would love to hear your feedback! If you are comfortable, you can email me directly at Anna.berentson@Trupanion.com to share more insight on how we can continue to set new Retention team members up for success.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! Work-life balance has been a high priority with Trupanion over the years and it is always great to hear that echoed in your employee experience. If you would like any additional resources around our employee benefits package and how other items can offset the lack of a 401K match, I encourage you to reach out to our benefits team at Benefits@Trupanion.com .

Great product, not so great company

Pros

The product itself is a great product to help protect pets.

Cons

Very underpaid compared to the cost of living and the median pay for an account manager. No annual reviews, no annual salary increases. You can be a top performer but there won’t be any resources for a salary increase, just a “good job, keep it up!” The only salary increase you will ever see is when the state mandates a higher minimum base salary. The bonus structure changes constantly and they basically took away everyone’s ability to bonus. No investment or development in employees. No opportunities to grow. You’ll only get the opportunity to move into a leadership role if you’re friends with others in leadership.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience working at Trupanion. We recognize that this team has gone through tremendous change over the years and that comes with better opportunities to set up the team for success going forward. Compensation is a continuous conversation that we are having at enterprise and global levels, which includes better education for our leaders and more transparency for our team members on this subject. We appreciate your candid feedback, and invite you to reach out to Jennifer Hernandez, Senior Director, People and Talent, if you want to speak on this further.
