Pros

None, there's nothing positive to say.

Cons

This company does not care about the growth of its employees. You ask any questions about growth and you cannot be given a straight answer. Managers don't know how to effectively manage other employees. There's a lot of delegation with little room to voice ideas for improvement. The environment is not welcoming, inclusive in the slightest, equitable or diverse. There's a lot of white voices that drown out everyone else. Salary is insultingly low for the HCOL area where they are headquartered.. to the point of being essentially minimum wage when calculated at an hourly rate. Labor laws are very likely being broken. Avoid at all costs.

Pros

Wonderfully smart and supportive supervisor along with some very talented and kind colleagues. Also, since it’s a start up, there are potentially ways to get creative and try out new ideas or strategies to make things more streamlined, efficient or effective.

Cons

My wildly high caseload required enduring fatigue at the expense of my mental health. While my supervisor was genuinely supportive of me taking care of myself and taking time off as needed, I felt this pace was not sustainable. Also, the corporatization of the mental health field is concerning as quality deteriorates due to the aforementioned crunch. Also, the pay was pitiful for what I was contributing and as compared to similar operations.

Pros

- Amazing peers clinically - Group consultation

Cons

- Unrealistic caseload expectation (that was not what was told during interview process) - Not paid fairly for what they are charging clients to see you - It is very clearly run by people who are not therapists and do not seem to respect what therapists do/need in order to do their jobs without burnout, compassion fatigue - Often felt like I did not have adequate time to truly care for my clients (case conceptualization, additional time for reading/research, etc.) because of the caseload expectation - Incredibly toxic work culture
