Pros

Working with veterans is very rewarding it is a good feeling giving back to them for what they did for the country.

Cons

There is not a opportunity for growth unless your monitoring and reporting other staff members and doing a multiple of job duties that is actually upper management duties and can be very petty, the funding donated to the organization does not go towards helping the veterans, the building has mold and they have a bad bug problems and their are a lot of drug transaction on the property .

U.S.VETS is an equal opportunity employer & an advocate of internal promotion & growth, as a matter of fact, we love seeing our internal team grow professionally if that is what they choose, in addition to adding new talent to our growing team of professionals!

Pros

Helping veterans who want to be helped

Cons

Executive Director is a horrible leader, pay is low, workload is high, staff turnover rate went from 2% under previous Executive Director to more than 50% in the short tenure of the new ED. She doesn't treat staff with respect and is driving them away. ED has not done anything to bring in more donor funding for the site. Housing First model used for programs has turned the place into a drug den that just warehouses vets. The vets who aren't using drugs hate it there. The ones using drugs love it because there are no consequences for their bad behavior. DEA busted drug ring at the site last year and staff had no idea because they don't actually case manage vets anymore.

Pros

Being able to serve homeless veterans. Because they have such high employee turn over there are always openings which might lead to advancement opportunities if you can stick it out.

Cons

Shady business practices, unsafe work environment, bed bugs in sleeping quarters, abusive management, they are in it for the money not the clients. Upper management were called "the Vegas Mafia" as the major of them are originally from the Las Vegas site.
