Toxic Company

Pros

Grateful for my job working from home during the pandemic however they hired many remote employees during this time only to terminate them if they were not willing to relocate and return to office 1-2 years down the road.

Cons

This company is toxic and working here will make you feel like an ant inside an ant farm. Leadership will tell you they care about your development but they don’t, they want to keep you in your role for as long as possible. They are operating on a .01-1% profit margin if they can even come out positive which hurts you as an employee because there is no room for raises or bonus’. Over my 5+ years at the company the housing market has gone up about 50% in my area and my overall pay actually went down through the termination of the incentive plan. In the months before my departure they kept looking for more and more ways to micromanage and add ‘busy work’ onto an already hefty workload with no increase in compensation. If you are going into account management or sales and your customer isn’t a top 1-10 customer get ready for alot of service issues and uncomfortable customer conversations. Constantly being let down by the Fleet and Planning teams and having to speak to issues out of your control.

Pros

It's easy to get hired. Low quality work is constantly acceptable so you don't have to aim high with your work.

Cons

You get paid below the industry standard because 'we're not a tech company.' 80% of the tech team was laid off over three rounds of layoffs in 12 months. Heavy focus on .net 4 development with no plan of moving to .net8. Most of the tech is from the 70s-90s. You never receive the bonus because the company is rarely making money. Company is so small, there's no room for career growth. Requirements for employees work varies based on personal relationships with management. No mentorship program. You're never told to work overtime but the expectation is that you will work nights and weekends on a regular basis. Production environment is the main testing environment.

Pros

It's a job and that's better than unemployment. My Dispatcher is a great guy and really tried his best with his hands tied. Will get you experience to move into a better company.

Cons

Won't get you home on time for home time, won't pay you correctly, you'll have to pull teeth to get paid for stuff you're entitled to by law or by policy in example: Layover pay, Detention pay things of that nature are almost never going to be on your check when they're supposed to be then you'll go through an entire HR ordeal just to get paid. You'll receive low miles and regional loads when you sign on to be an OTR driver, you won't get paid for on duty time, you won't get paid a drop rate and you'll be told to violate DOT laws and log off duty when you're on duty sitting at a warehouse.
