Pros

Job security - the business is still growing so job security is a big plus Fast paced - day to day tasks may be the same but there is always something different happening Benefits - Health insurance plans are fairly good however the best part is the retirement plan as well as the paid education

Cons

Constant and unrealistic changes in the metrics used to determine how a center is doing. Corporate seems to be out of touch with what actually works and what its employees need to do their job well. There is also a big disconnect between management and union members, its a constant battle and in this position there is a lot of middle man mentality.

Pros

Good pay and unbeatable benefits. The union is outstanding. Job security is great. Frequent pay raises. Large pay jumps. Generous vacation time.

Cons

Poor management. Seniority-based promotions lead to unqualified new hire training. My supervisor had no interest in training me and seemed to not know how. He knew the delivery route by heart and was more focused on getting our truck emptied quickly because he wasn't getting paid by the hour.

Pros

Coworkers are alright. You learn some sales tactics during training. Good benefits. You're able to sit and stand at your desk. Elevators. Pay is okay if you're fairly new to the work world.

Cons

A LOT. This place sucks, I would STAY AWAY. The job description on their website is an outright lie and really misinforms people applying for the job. What you're really doing is cold calling people all day, many of whom don't want to talk to you. You are micromanaged and have to meet unobtainable sales goals every week or else you're put on "the list". Company is very behind with the times and stuck in the 1950's. They only have Internet Explorer 7 installed on the computers, and you have to use a MS-DOS program to find information about customers. Go look up MS-DOS... it's from 1981! And don't get caught eating chips at your desk. Only hard candy is allowed. Then if you're a guy you have to shave everyday; not even a little stubble is allowed. You're talking to people on the phone... as in they can't see you... what the hell does it matter? Then there's the commission which no one understands. It really makes absolute no sense. It's not just sell and make commission. They put in some many extra metrics and obstacles and no one understands it. Everyone just hopes that their commission check comes out decent. And if this wasn't all bad enough, now they are having the ISR's and the Account Executives (the UPS employee actually in the area you are calling) competing against each other. You're not even a team anymore. So let's say you found a business and are trying to set up a UPS account with them, but the AE walks into the business and sets it up before you do, they get the commission money and you are out of luck. It's blasphemy!
