Pros

Any good reason to work for UPS has been slowly eliminated.

Cons

Work environment is disguisting. Restrooms are reminiscent of the one in the movie Trainspotting.. Benefits decline annually.. Consolidations, and hiring and promotion freezes are the norm - every year jobs are eliminated through attrition and not filled, ensuring every year your workload will increase.. A change to job grades last year resulted in many employees being told they were overpaid and would not get raises. Those who do get raises usually get dismal raises.

Pros

The pay is union scale for union employees and not very good for non union employees. Management has ranges of pay for the job you do. The benefits are good for the union people not as good for the non union and management people. Room to move up if you can play their game.

Cons

Hostile work environment, you are treated like a number very replaceable.. very unfair environment don't get hurt your fault or not they will get rid of you. Very hostile work environment between management and union people. Very unfriendly company to work for everyone is always unhappy because of the union management tensions. Don't go management its an eat or be eaten mentality and you will constantly have other management people taking your credit and blaming you for their mistakes. The word is cover your ass or someone will stick it to you. They will chew you up and spit you out because your nothing to them. The junior management has no power to do their job , the union is very strong so unless you steal something its almost impossible to fire a bad employee. If you pass out or collapse they will work around you and not offer any assistance or let anyone help you just call an ambulance and leave you were you fall. They are afraid of any liability even though there is a good Samaritan law that would cover you. Very hard work for the money you make and lousy hours for years. Don't work there .
