Pros

1. You get to stretch your technical knowledge and build experience by working closely with other departments. 2. Exceptional colleagues with remarkable creativity and innovative thinking 3. Team demonstrates outstanding resilience when facing challenges 4. Collaborative environment with talented individuals who are a genuine pleasure to work alongside

Cons

1. Leadership frequently changes strategic direction without clear rationale or proper transition planning 2. Executive conduct in meetings can be confrontational and unprofessional (bullying and yelling) 3. Scientific expertise is consistently undervalued in decision-making processes 4. Career advancement opportunities remain unclear but you're expected to assume more responsibilities without the reward 5. Little to no recognition for employee contributions despite high performance expectations; and occasionally managers take the credit for your accomplishments

Pros

Well funded company with interesting projects and a lot of opportunity for employees to learn. Were it not for the negatives, this would be the company best positioned to make cultivated meat at large scale a reality.

Cons

Upside is its own worst enemy. The company culture has become increasingly toxic. These are some of the issues: People treated as expendable: There are several employees who have quit without another job lined up simply because the environment was bad for their health. Finger pointing: Pointing out the mistakes of others to distract people from your own mistakes is considered acceptable behavior No leadership: There are managers who have gone months without communicating with a direct report. They don't respond to messages or support the people under them. However, these managers are skilled at flattering those above them, so they get promoted themselves. No integrity: Managers will acknowledge that they have people in their group that are an issue (lying/harassment) but rather than trying to fix it, the manager simply says the problem will self select out over time. There are only a small number of people that are an issue, but after multiple surprise RIFs managers don't want to remove a problem person because they might not be able to rehire. The hours are long and there are never enough people for the job so you can't afford to be short staffed. Even when a department is told they can hire for a position, often its denied last minute with no explanation. This is common knowledge, so people are nervous to lose even a single person.
