Pros

The challenge of supporting a national news media network Creating innovative solutions to issues internally

Cons

Company is obsessed with offshoring instead of discussing cost savings opportunities with people actually doing the work. Lack of communication from management as well as information traveling upwards to VPs and C level. Difficult to get support from managers and directors for initiatives due to disinterest / not willing to spend time discussing it.

Pros

A few of my coworkers were good people and I met very good friends through here.

Cons

There was no job security at all. Constant fear of layoffs. Toxic culture in the newsroom—editors who are openly misogynistic, coworkers who openly bully others, rampant racism and transphobia. The editor publicly supported a white reporter who was repeatedly comfortable bullying reporters of color. There is so much internal racism, it was an untenable situation to stay in.

Pros

Co-workers are great. Many hard workers, who are underpaid and doing the job of 4 people

Cons

No raises ever. People are laid-off quarterly. Since 2017 they have let go of 50% of their workforce. (Mostly in their newsroom and IT) They are pennywise and dollar foolish. They are no adults left in the room
