Pros

Ability to work remotely Great coworkers

Cons

Instability - consistent layoffs of people who are exceeding goals High pressure environment - excessive KPI’s, micromanagement, lack of direction Commission uncertainty - high performers are laid off before payoff, 55% of the team has made 0 commission for the past 6 months, paid off % to goal with % growth inconsistency Poor communication from leadership - goals are given once the quarter has already started, decisions made with little notice Time scrutiny - no hourly flexibility (expect to take PTO for appointments), 5 hours of your day are examined on a minute-by-minute basis Lack of career growth - hire management externally, no upward movement, layoffs tend to favor cost-cutting over talent retention Scrutiny - weekly meetings where management insult employees personally & professionally There’s a reason the stocks are down, and it has to do with poor management and a lack of vision. Very surprised this is a fortune 500 company.

Thank you for your feedback. Gannett continues to evolve our business model in the face of industry shifts, economic conditions, and changing consumer needs. Many factors come into play as we make structural decisions. One of them is the way change will have an impact on our employees. At times business decisions that allow us to secure a long-term future could have negative implications in the short-term. We remain committed to evolving to serve our customers and communities. Employees are encouraged to participate in monthly town halls, division all-hands meetings, executive office hours, strategy education sessions, and other forums to ensure they remain as informed as possible about company performance, priorities, and change efforts.
