Pros

Wage and benefit package is the highest in the newspaper industry due to strong union negotiated contract. Profits from this property is the highest among the Gannett newspapers. Profits would be even higher if senior management hadn't dissolved the joint operating agreement.

Cons

Management are all trying to better one another to receive some sort of recognition from corporate. Always looking at the bottom line and not addressing real "needs". Navigates forward through blinders and hence, fails to react to the "real world".

Pros

Access to abundant data resources.

Cons

The "you are replaceable" attitude that permeates the building at all times; the disrespect with which managers treat their employees; the lip service paid to positive change that never materializes into anything of substance; the lack of loyalty to employees...

Pros

There are a lot of highly talented reporters and photographers working at KXTV. Sacramento is a good news market, particularly because it's the state capitol. The proximity to San Francisco, Lake Tahoe and Napa also add to the quality of life.

Cons

The company is cutting costs at the expense of the news product. Reporters now have to shoot some of their own stories, which diminishes the quality. There are a lot of talented photographers at this station, so it's disappointing to see managment starting to diminish their role. The bottom line: the company is trying to do more for less... and they don't seem to care at what cost.
