      Pros

      Very solid benefits. Relatively stable due to the loyalty established in its niche membership. Lots of great friendships built over the years and a neat mission to be a part of.

      Cons

      Extremely poor senior leaders have wrecked the culture. Corporate pageantry out the wazzoo. If you know anything about data, the data governance program is the greatest waste of resources I've ever come across in corporate America, and that is saying something. Processes upon processes that have never added value and wasted uncalculatable resources/time. Worse yet, they've created an army of resources with no skills except in keeping up with the internal kingdom that has been built.

      Pros

      USAA is a great company to work for, especially when it comes to pay and benefits. Compensation was more than fair, with consistent raises and performance bonuses. I appreciated the flexibility of the job and the strong, respectful culture. The work environment was generally friendly, and I always felt that employees were treated well.

      Cons

      Heavy call volume Unreasonable metrics While the company itself promotes a positive culture, the leadership style and communication really depend on the manager you’re assigned to. Some managers were supportive and available, while others seemed disengaged, gossiped, or lacked true leadership qualities. There wasn’t a consistent management structure or clear communication across the board, which sometimes made it difficult to grow or feel supported.

      Unclear metrics that are constantly changing. Micromanaging. This is not a servicing job, it is 100% sales with 0% commission.
