Pros

Beautiful campus, good benefits, covered parking

Cons

Call center on steroids. If you are in "after call" to complete a customers issue or research their account, management has a fit. Anytime you are in after call for 7 minutes or more, you lose 15 minutes of PTO. This is a thinly veiled plan to reduce benefits for their workers

Pros

Generous 401k plus matching. Easy 40 hr work week.

Cons

Little mobility, promotions without pay raises, unclear promotion criteria designed to allow managers to play favorites. A high volume of calls that have little to nothing to do with Financial Advice. The Addison location provides very little in the way of perks for their employees, and this leads to a demoralizing work atmosphere. The company claims it values Honesty, Integrity, Loyalty, and Service, but provides none of those things to their employees. Very little value is placed on the happiness, or growth of its employees. Stay far away, especially if you are a non-Hispanic minority.

Pros

1. Base salary 2. Work/life balance 3. PTO 4. Retirement benefits 5. Casual dress 6. Very nice and interesting members 7. Insurance side of the business is ethical 8. Great friends

Cons

1. USAA pretends that they want to do what's right for the member, when the right thing to do is to tell the member to move their money somewhere else to a place where returns are better, more custom, and a place where you are not forced to recommend a proprietary product that you would never sell to any of your loved ones. 2. New leadership are 20 year plus USAA call center people that have no experience outside of USAA yet alone how true comprehensive financial planning and Wealth Management really work. 3. USAA has brainwashed its members that because they cater to the military, they are trust worthy. A complete lie. You can only play the military card for so long before the public catches on that everything at USAA is open to ANYONE with the exception of property and casualty insurance and a bank account. Investments, life insurance, annuities, advice is open to all who make a phone call. 4. Any sophisticated investor knows not to use USAA's managed money as it has consistently trailed their respective benchmarks. What this means is that because of the excessive management fees with buried expenses into their proprietary mutual funds, an average investor would do better and make better returns just by simply buying a comparable index. Hundreds of better suited managed accounts at other real shops. 5. Employee turnover is massive. More then 50% of the employees nationwide in the Wealth Management space has occurred over the last year and a half. Obviously a telling sign of what is happening internally. 6. Most of the wealth managers/adviser/ financial advisers are secretly looking to quit from USAA and talking to other firms. 7. Not a place where affluent people should invest with. Basically 4 products. Proprietary manage accounts/mutual funds, fixed annuities, income annuities, life insurance. 8. Everything is a secret. Role clarity, compensation, sales expectations. 9. Sitting in a loud cube sucks. 10. No matter how comprehensive the adviser is, it all leads to the same 4 products to the member. Smoke and mirrors. 11. High probability of a witch hunt in order to fire you. Advisors leaving weekly to competition.
