Pros

-Great people to work with -People are always willing to help you out and give you advice how to improve your sales skills -If you are there for more than a few months you will have the opportunity to make money

Cons

-You need to spend money on getting your Insurance Certification. Around $300 -You need to spend in laptop and headset and that around $500 -They will make you pay for you cubicle around $150 every month. They don't tell you this until you already started -You need to pay for the software and that's around $95 every month, again they don't tell you this until you started -Schedule is around 8 am to 8 pm and Saturdays 8 am to 5 pm. If you don't commit to that they will make you feel horrible about it, guilty trip you on how awful it is that your coworkers can work that many hours and you don't. Again they don't tell you this until your first day -Be ready to not make much money your first month, so if you have no savings or don't have a way to support yourself for a month or two then this is not for you -If you have a family be ready to only see them around 9 pm and Sundays. That's what some people told me, they only see their kids very little -Is not as easy as they make it sound

Thank you for your comments and advice. We appreciate you taking the time to share your perspective about your individual experience. Given that you did not identify a specific office location in your comments, I feel it necessary to point out that every local office leader is an independently contracted agent. As such, each is free to exercise his/her own judgment as to the manner and means of running their business and performing services required under the agreement. It is not at all unusual for any small business owner to "do things their way"...provided they are not in violation of their Agent Agreement or any local, state or federal law. In other words, every local USHA office has its own personality. I encourage anyone who is considering an opportunity with USHA to consider the opportunity in it's totality...including their own willingness to invest in professional tools, required licensure and their level of personal commitment to their own success. Thank you again, for offering your perspective. We wish you our very best for your future success.

Pros

You get to make your own schedule (sort of)

Cons

Overbearing (you are expected to be in the office all day everyday cold calling. You are a captive agent which means they don’t pay you a salary, but they own you. You are pushing a product you never truly understand. The main plan they push is a joke (you will have trouble sleeping at night). The only people the plan is good for are those who have a catastrophic event. Other than that it is a discount plan at best. The gossip and backstabbing is disgusting as well. When you go in for the pitch they make it seem like you will be a millionaire, but that just isn’t the case. You will struggle your first year or so, so don’t quit your day job.

As always, we appreciate all comments...because they help us build a better company. It appears you've made a decision that the USHEALTH Advisors opportunity isn't the right fit for you. I think it's important though...to stop and reflect on why this opportunity didn't work out. Under the heading of Cons...you listed a number of entries, indicating a dislike for our work ethic and our captive contract. As with any career opportunity, you have to be willing to do the work required in order to succeed. This is a fact that seems to escape many people. Showing up and working hard will always lead to a better outcome...than looking for shortcuts to success. You also mentioned a lack of understanding with regard to our products...which is evidently the case, given the subsequent erroneous statements made about our products. We offer continuous training opportunities for all our products so, I'm a bit perplexed about how anyone who has completed our training could be so confused on how our products work or the valuable coverage they provide. I recognize that you didn't care for the office environment. I have to wonder though, if your level of disgust might be rooted in other factors such as a resistance to coming into the office on a regular basis, for work. In my experience, a negative predisposition about being anywhere typically leads one to seek reasons to justify their dislike of being there. I don't know if this is the case, here. It is simply an observation. With regard to your final statement, I'll simply add that one's level of success or failure in life, is typically the result of the choices they make. No matter the definition of success...it cannot be achieved without hard work and commitment. Again, thank you for your comments. I wish you the very best in your future endeavors.

Pros

The comp plan is pretty generous to get you stable to create a book of business. You can work from home or pay a small office fee for a cube which is better than most. The policy structures are merely component pieces packaged as benefits... could be a pro... but actually a misrepresentation

Cons

The local and divisional management are jokes. There is no management..just a lot of favoritism towards those who produce but don't assist the new people. I help new comers but the others just snub them because everyone is so worried that someone will get/make more than them. Horrible atmosphere. Too much favoritism, unequal expectations. Horriblr environment in which to work. I am leaving and going into a different role within the industry just to be around some professional people. Turnover is atrocious and treatment by management is even worse...bottom through the regional lady.
