Pros

When I first interviewed, the Regional said to me, "Give me 5 years dedicated and it will change your life!". I can attest that after my 1st full year, it has already come true. The rewards are numerous and the financial benefit that my family has experienced are just has stated if your willing to be dedicated to your career. But I will say you have to have a strong desire to better yourself. All the training is there, the leadership is top notch and the environment is one you just have to experience for yourself.

Cons

This is not a 9-5 career. Although some treat it as such, to fully experience all the rewards this company has to offer, you need to be all in. And it will offer you and your family, levels you've only heard but not experienced!

Pros

Once trained, you can work from home. The work itself isn't hard. It would make a great supplementary job for a little extra income. Don't have to pay for leads. It is a numbers game, and if you go through the motions, you will eventually make a sale. If you're a savant at sales, then this would be great position, since there's technically no cap on earnings. In general, there isn't pressure to make sales from management -- though I suspect it's because if you don't make any you'll just starve. The insurance plans they offer are actually good plans.

Cons

It's entirely commission based. As you get started, you'll need to have savings and/or credit cards (or a job already) for up to 3 months if you intend on doing it full time. If not full time, then make it clear to the hiring manager that you have to feed yourself, and won't risk (since they're in the business of risk) not potentially having an income for a week. You will work your butt off with no guarantee that you'll have any income. And yes, there will be bad weeks where you make 0 dollars. The sales training at the company sent up a red flag for me when the script went like "...we're a not for profit organization..." Of course we're for-profit. That's unethical, and frankly sleazy. Very high turn-over rate. They were hiring new people every week I was there, it didn't inspire confidence. You are technically an "independent contractor" meaning the company doesn't have to offer you a base pay or benefits

Thank you for your comments and advice. There is certainly a lot to digest here. USHEALTH Advisors, like all successful businesses, has developed and subscribes to a specific business model. While it may not work for everyone, our experience tells us that it works very well for those who follow it...and for the company, itself. Regarding sales training, rest assured that no company-authorized sales training includes any deceptive sales practices or scripts. Deceptive business practices would be in total conflict with USHEALTH Advisors mission of Helping Other People Everyday. Like all self-employed opportunities, the work is hard...the income is based on performance and the rewards for doing the work can be incredible. Those who thrive here most, believe in their right to independence and self-determination. Again, thank you for your comments. We wish you much success in your future endeavors.

Pros

While many companies give promotions to the "boys club" USHA has a whole different culture, focused on HOPE and Results. I joined USHA in 2009 and completed the year as #2 Division in the company, and was promoted to 1 of 4 Regional Sales Leaders. Since 2009 I have continued to be #1 for 8 consecutive years. During this time I have promoted many Divisions, first one being my little sister Teaira Still which was awarded multiple years as #1 DSL. Mara Dorne, my best friend today leads the largest Divisional Team in the country with numerous female leaders, Lisa Laws, Jeanine Shoeman & Jennifer Hmielewski. We recently left New Orleans where we had our annual leaders meeting. I am so proud of all of our leaders, but especially of the strong women that we have leading our field force. If you are looking for an opportunity to not only grow in your career but grow as a person, this is one of the only places I know of that the better you become at what you do, the better the person you become.

Cons

You get out of it, what you put into it. You must be committed to our mission of HOPE
