Pros

This company does put a lot of effort into the culture, employee well-being, etc but they sometimes miss where it would count most. Work-life balance is (mostly) good, a good amount of PTO is offered, and remote work/hybrid work is the norm. My team is quite good, work is interesting and engaging. There seems to be a lot of opportunity for career growth.

Cons

Billability expectations are extremely high, and there is a severe lack of organization/strong leadership at the mid-management level. An American company with a lack of understanding of Canada and Canadian employee expectations. "Employee-owned" does not feel like a real concept, other than not being publically traded. While the Diversity / "DEI" focus is not a bad thing, it does feel like it is geared towards children. They don't offer sick time, get quite rude when asked about it, and parental leave is quite bad for anyone not in Canada. HR dept in general entirely US based.

We have worked closely with advisory partners and our team members to understand employee expectations in Canada, so if we're missing the mark in some ways with regard to benefits or other work environment matters, please let me and/or your leadership team know. Sorry if you've experienced any rudeness when asking about sick time. I am guessing you have been told that paid time off (PTO) is a combined pool of time for vacation and sick time. Please each out to me at any time to discuss any of these matters - feel free to set up time on my calendar.
