Pros

The commute wasn't bad. However, with three campuses, they posted me at the two farthest from my home for the first two years I worked there. It's a good place to be if you want to see a wide variety of students, or people in general.

Cons

Tons of mandatory overtime is required, and the salaries are horrible. Work-life balance does not exist. The management is terrified of the upper level administration, so we see a classic situation of "the kid kicking the dog."

Pros

Paid time off, but that is becoming less certain since they seem to change the time to accrue and use PTO without notice.

Cons

No respect from management. The management is completely incompetent and the president is an egomaniac. The environment is so much the opposite of student-centered, everyone jokes about the "Students are #1" motto. The union contract is basically an excuse to treat union employees like dirt and give crummy raises.

You are not going too far. Everything relate to your job requires approval from a least 2 people.
