Pros

30 percent discount , some cool coworkers and supervisors, one hour break, they work with your schedule if you have school or another job

Cons

Low pay, micro management , favoritism is BIG , even when you work hard the managers promote who they like best, small break rooms , it's all bout the standards nothing is ever perfect for them, the clothes have to be a-ranked or at least b-ranked to open the store (they rank the clothes by how it is folded) you have to pass a test in order to be promoted, they want you to act like robots , memorize the six standard phrases, smile all day and walk with a "sense of urgency" if there is even a little bit of dust on the shelf the store fails the look through by upper management

Pros

In this establishment, you come across a variety of co-workers from different educational backgrounds. Many of the coworkers are artistic and creatives, therefore networking in this job is easy.

Cons

The management is horrible. There is a lot of favoritism. Brown nosing has to occur if you want a pay raise, let alone a promotion. HR is horrible and doesn't solve any altercations committed on the sales floor including sexual harassment. There is some subtle racism within upper and lower management towards people of color. Supervisors become romantically involved with co-workers and tend to promote them on that basis.

Pros

Everything is great on paper.

Cons

Due to structure, you can only be as good as your management team will let you be. This is a great job for those just entering retail. If you have experience, you will not be compensated for it but they will exploit it. To be successful her you must have 80/20 work life balance and you will be ignored if you give anything less.
