Too much for a Promotion/Pay raise

Pros

Employees are really a team and work together. Pay is good for a clothing retail job. Discount is great on clothing

Cons

Promotional evaluations are very biased. You are reviewed by individuals who hardly see you working on the sales floor, which is bad because once they say no, you have to wait until the next promotion period to get promoted again (3 months). So that being said, you could be working there for 2 years and not be promoted, which is the ONLY way to get a pay increase. Also once you get 2 promotions as an associate, you have to take and pass a test, get an interview, and pass an alterations exam in order to get a "career jump." Test is not easy because you can't paraphrase anything you have to know the EXACT wording, including punctuation, in the handbook.

Cons

- No balance between life and work - Area managers treat you like crap - Upper management treats you like trash since they don't see you as an equal - Will make your work load completely unbearable - Constant inventory shifts - Tries to make you work out of your availability - Horrible customers - Expects more out of it's staff even when they cut back on hours

Pros

Experience Benefits (if full time) and Discount Friendships/ Bonds Employee engagement programs ( for example the month of employee metro card giveaways) Catered food certain days a year

Cons

1.Favoritism/ Cliques 2.Attitude/ Immaturity 3.Constant change in company wide rules/ standards/ procedures every month, too hard to keep up with then it is also very hard to explain to associates that these are important rules, etc... if they are in constant flux. 4.Communication between Directors-> Corporate-> Stores-> Managers-> Employees-> Customers 5. horrible work life balance. OT not allowed. Leaving work some nights as late as 1 am when you were scheduled to leave at 11 pm. This job was to precede all other aspects of your life.
