Pros

Flight benefits! Interesting time to be in the airline industry. Most people are generally easy to work with and it is great working for a company that everyone knows. There are always new opportunities for new projects or promotion, although it can be very political.

Cons

Large environment with many departments not communicating effectively. Lack of concrete leadership strategy and goals. Everything is "confidential". Too many people have been there for 30+ years and hold a grudge for new people who haven't yet "put their time in". It takes forever to get anything changed or accomplished. Meetings about meetings...

Pros

UA has always been pretty good at promoting from within the company. It's reasonable to expect that many middle and upper-level managers have been promoted from within the company rather than having been hired from the outside. The airline industry is exciting and always changing, and the people who work here are loyal and want to see the company succeed.

Cons

The pay is not equitable with similar work outside of the company. UA is not a place that provides an incredible amount of job security. And, like any big corporation, office politics often decides who gets the peachy assignments and promotions.

Pros

great coworkers and flight benefits

Cons

Management does not care about employees and employee pay/benefits are usually the first things sacrificed in hard times.
