Pros

Able to work on your areas of interest. Used to be good Flight benefits, but now flights are almost full. UA provides 4-6% on 401k contributions Depending your boss, you can have flex schedule Organized and hierarchical management. Definitely, ISD will be heading in right direction with new CIO and it'll be totally different from earlier leadership. Upper leadership is changing with people who knows about technology.

Cons

No communication between management and employees. Uncertainty and no clear vision Too much of outsourcing and difficult to deal with vendors. Vendors are selected solely based on management's discretion. UA is very reactive to market conditions, there are lot of job cuts just to survive in the industry.

Pros

None you must pay a fee for a standby seat on all flights - the price is equivalent to a regular confirmed coach ticket. Why bother?

Cons

Poor pay, uneducated employees especially Management (most have only a hs diploma) Very racist company, especially headquarters, fully of hicks from surrounding states, it is the MIDWEST

Pros

Travel benefits, fun colleagues. A pretty decent health insurance package still despite pay cuts. As a Flight Attendant you do sometimes meet interesting people and get to visit places one would not at this level of pay. Very good interline travel benefits on other airlines. Variety of schedule.

Cons

Low morale, incompetent management, as a Flight Attendant making ends meet is increasingly difficult. Lack of job security. Jet lag, irregular sleep patterns. Not enough time off between trips, not enough vacation time or personal days with pay. A bureaucratic structure management that often makes you feel undervalued. Working weekends and odd hours.
