Great work environment, but little room for advancement

Pros

Great opportunity to work with at risk youth and represent the organization, employer provided many opportunities for new trainings and education. Co-workers can be wonderful to work with as long as you share similar counseling methods and philosophies.

Cons

While management and supervisors are quick to provide training and educational advancement, there are few opportunities to move up in the organization. Pay is okay, but not really enough in comparison to cost of living.

I have enjoyed working with UMFS although there are some cons to my position.

Pros

UMFS is full of employees that truly care about helping the children they are working with. I have found it a joy to work with all of the employees in my office and I love working with my current three clients.

Cons

When there is an emergency with a child normally only one person is left responsible to deal with the emergency rather than coming together as a group to approach the emergency together. Also, there is a lot of nit picking about small issues that are a waste of time in my opinion pertaining to paperwork. There is also a lack of organization throughout.
