Pros

deep pockets and good at dangling a carrot in front of somebody when they recruit them.

Cons

MANY dotted lines. Too many Chiefs: not enough Indians. Too Political. Entirely too much bureaucracy!! Keep people not qualified. No training....no management; DC are slick talking do nothing managers who run all over trying to justify their position. Don't be deceived by this big corporation that doesn't give a rat about you...keep looking or stay where you're at! United Rentals ruined me!! Recruited me, caused my former employer to give me an ultimatum to go or stay then threw me to the wolves with NO training, consolidated regions, demoted managers then let me go with some lame excuse to make room for somebody who had been demoted. They're full of games and could careless about a person. Tumultuous environment that I'm certain it's better that I'm not with them! Just wish they had never contacted me and caused to the leave a perfectly good job!!!!!!! They almost destroyed my family's livelihood!! and they could care less!!!!!!!!!!! DON'T WORK FOR THEM!! BE WARNED!!!!!!!!!!!

Pros

After 12 years I continue to be amazed by this organization. Hurricane Ida devastated Louisiana and left many team members in need of some basic necessities such as food, clothing, and shelter. United Rentals quickly provided many team members with grants that allowed them to purchase these basic necessities. Many homes were damaged and left uninhabitable - UR provided campers that accommodated entire families at no cost to team members. The United family sent canned goods and household supplies from across the country – enough that there was a pantry setup for all team members that had a need to get free food and groceries. Showers and laundry trailers were also made available to team members free of charge. While all this was amazing and much appreciated, what really exemplified United Rental’s culture was the team members that came in from across the country to help. Boots on the ground, taking care of people they had never met before but that didn’t matter, all that mattered was that we all belonged to the same family. The United Rental’s family! I was taken back by how many team members were so willing to give up their time to help those in need. That’s family, that’s culture, that’s UNITED RENTALS!!

Cons

I haven't been able to meet all my family members - it's a big family.

Team oriented and goal driven. If you want to work for a company where your success lies within your own doing and what type of effort you put into it, this is the company for you you.

Cons

I have zero complaints about my job or company. The company is always trying to find ways to improve the customer's experience and build capacity to fill customer needs.
