Pros

Ability to work from home.

Cons

WARNING! Don't try to make this a career. Hop in if you absolutely have to and hop right back out. Otherwise go ahead and get some meds from your doc for the stress/anxiety/lack of sleep you'll get while working here. I can only imagine what the employees go through who don't work from home. I'm a telecommuter and this has become the worse, most difficult, soul sucking job I've ever had in my life. I literally bite my tongue to keep from crying throughout the day. The supervisors talk to/treat you like crap because they can get away with it. Schedule changes weekly. Absolutely NO flexibility, be prepared to work any hours they decide to schedule you between 8am - 9pm or Do NOT apply! The supervisor also schedule your lunch breaks. Call center type work with calls non-stop while you're being listened in on and graded. Made up policies that only apply to certain situations/people. Low pay. Harassment. Micromanaged (even from home). And the list goes on and on. Atleast 1 person from my team of 10 is talked off the edge everyday. We cry together like we're in jail!

Pros

Very prominent company at the time to work with. They were solid with job security and offered many ways to really get up financially and ethically. Paid attention to you and your integrity and exemplary solid work ethic and honor.

Cons

Not honest on changes and policies and activities which resulted in unfair departure and ending of what could have been continued greatness which UHG really did have., until they unfairly let me go. I have several years of honored and exemplary service. At least this what I had been told and acknowledged upon with my coaches and management team. I wish our site had not been sold. I went to a department who I believe was not honest with me. I was there only 90 days and I experienced very cold and negativity from some of the new department co-workers. They would complain and they lost all 3 of us new hires for various reasons. My situation was I received surprise call from senior executives that I had failed my annual background check for 2017, where I had passed all background checks both annually and ethically and had solid 3-4 year tenure with solid service. There was no reason for them to just oust me on a technicality which I spoke with the consumer advocates who conducted all of our annual background checks which had been the same company UHG has used my whole tenured time. Why suddenly was I failed? If I fail one background check, I would have failed all others. Where I have not. Before and after this incident, I have passed and had exemplary background. I do not break the law at all. I make mistakes indeed, breaking the law is not one of them. They have betrayed my trust and violated my respect for them by for what I believe they let me go for much more than I just failed my annual background. I saw my consumer report which was alledgedly used for my annual for 2017. There was only one thing on it which stated decisional. Also on the initial application process when I applied back in 2014. It asked in the past 7 years were you charged or convicted of any crime of any kind. I answered honestly; NO! And this was honored throughout my tenure with Connextions which became Optum INC. All of these truths followed me as it should have continued to do currently.
